Give your time
Today, many nonprofit health organizations hold volunteer events and projects to raise awareness for a good cause. Volunteering at these events are not only a great way to give back to your community, but they can also help your staff build stronger bonds. If you’re looking for some local organizations to volunteer with, consider giving your time to the American Lung Association, the Special Olympics, or Bright Pink, a nonprofit advocating for the prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women.
Make a donation
When things get busy, it can be hard to carve out time to volunteer. The good news is that you can still give back and improve the wellness of others by making a donation to a nonprofit of your choice. One great local organization you can donate to is the Dare2tri Paratriathlon Club, which empowers individuals with disabilities and gives them the opportunity to be physically active, engaged with their community, and helps them set and reach goals.
Get the word out
If you don’t have the budget or time to give back at the moment, that’s okay -- you can still make the most of National Physical Fitness and Sports Month. Whether it’s an office-wide email or through word of mouth, there are plenty of opportunities to promote local nonprofits and let others know that they can participate.
